Al Shukle's Gilbert Erector-Built Ferris Wheel

Al writes: "A variation of the 8½ ferris wheel with eight cars on a base of MN baseplates with a simplified tower of DP girders. The original 'cable' drive around the periphery, slightly modified, looked more 'realistic' than the later, large pulley system. Entry and exit ramps as well as a simulated operating steam engine were added. Tower and Base; Motor is pivoted on an out of view shaft. Weight of motor tensions string 'cable' drive. Rubber band drives the 'steam' engine."

P.S. There are 1128 parts/pieces (count'em) pictured.
