Bruce Hansen's Type I Airplane Ride

Bruce writes: "This model is a Circle Swing built from a 1916 #6 type I set. It's the obvious predecessor to the Airplane ride lead model of the 6 ½ set.

The model is powered by a P-58 motor. I used a train transformer to power the motor. Here's a shot of the gearbox/ motor (I used a rubber band instead of string to drive the gear box).

The motor spins the "canoes" at about 30 RPM's.

This was my first type I model. The parts aren't as versatile as the type II or even type III parts, but they do make for some quick building large models! This one stands close to 3 ft. high."
