Bruce Hansen's Erector Space Needle

Bruce writes: "This model is the Space Needle built from a 1960 12½ Master Builders set. My thanks to Mike DiVita who sent me copies of the instructions. The Space Needle was one of the (if not the) major attractions of the 1962 World's Fair held in Seattle. This model is a 5½ ft. rendition of the over 600 ft. tower complete with rotating restaurant on top.

Here's a shot of the motor setup which drives a vertical axle at about 12 rpm:

Lastly, here are a couple of shots from the top and of the details of the revolving restaurant. Though it's now shown, the revolving top rides on TA/TB ball bearings.

Thanks again Mike for the copies of the plans!"
