Hylton Smith's Meccano Aeroplane and No. 1 Sets

Hylton writes: "[This is the] Meccano Aeroplane Constructor outfit from the 1930s. The aeroplane in blue is the outfit model, the red sea plane is a copy I made myself, only the floats, struts, prop and insignias are original from my spare parts box. I refurbished this set as the paint work was in very poor condition but was complete up to the last nut and bolt!

The No. 1 Meccano set was given to me by its owner who got it as a Christmas present in 1939, even the warranty slip is still in the lid. The Kiddy Car with the box was the first model I ever built as a very young boy and have produced it here with the set's contents."
