Hylton Smith's Meccano No. 4 Sports Car

Hylton writes: "Here is a batch of pics of the promised refurbished blue-gold plates used in actual models. The articulated van and horse will follow soon along with two models in my collection in ORIGINAL blue gold parts.

This little beauty has always been part of my life. I adored it as a child. The model instructions come from a post war No 4. Meccano set that I had in red and green but pre war (wwII) printing blocks were still being used in the instruction manuals showing the model in blue gold cross hatch. Note those lovely redone wheels! I would say this car was based on a MG sports car - it has always been known to me as the No 4 sports car by name."
