Bruce Hansen's Erector Army Tank

Bruce writes: "This Light Tank was built from a 1960 Amusement Park set with the addition of the NW tread and NX tread pulleys. The model is pictured in the Master Builder manual for 12½ sets.

Here are some shots under the hood showing the motor gearing; one CZ 7" axle with (2) CJ 36 tooth gears engage the shiftable 12-tooth gear in the A49 motor gear box. This axle has a set of NX pulleys mounted on it.

The treads are mounted between (2) NX pulleys with a pair of Z flanged wheels per side mounted on an axle in the middle. The model works really well and runs along at about 2 inches/second forward and reverse. Nothing tough about the construction; just relatively pricey parts."
